“I didn’t have much to do with the Aboriginal community when I was growing up and when I came to Melbourne, I started having to know Aboriginal communities because I was going to school in an Aboriginal unit. When I was at Margaret Tucker’s (hostel) I had more to do with Aboriginal people and kids of my own age. It’s what I needed at that time. It was an added bonus to go there and be in an Aboriginal environment, especially with the females, they could understand.”
